About Freemasonry & Our Lodge
One of the world's oldest and largest fraternities, dedicated to making good men better — in League City, Texas.
The Craft
What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry is a fraternity of men bound together by shared values: a belief in a Supreme Being, a commitment to moral character, and a devotion to charity and brotherly love.
Through allegory and symbol drawn from the tools of the ancient stonemasons, Masonry teaches lessons of integrity, humility, and service — encouraging every member to build a better version of himself and to give back to his community.
The three great principles
- Brotherly Love
- Every true Mason regards the whole human species as family.
- Relief
- To soothe the unhappy and relieve their suffering is our aim.
- Truth
- Truth is a divine attribute and the foundation of every virtue.
Our History
More than a century in League City
Chartered in 1911, League City Lodge No. 1053 has been a pillar of our community for over a century — a place where good men gather in fellowship, support one another and their families, and work to better the lives of those around them. Under the Grand Lodge of Texas, A.F. & A.M., we carry on a tradition of Freemasonry that stretches back centuries.
